SBA Scorecard for FY24

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) works with each federal agency to set their prime and subcontracting goals and a scorecard is released at the conclusion of the fiscal year. The data for FY24 and the Department of Defense (DoD) expanded the footprint of small business participation in the Defense Industrial Base in FY24 with an increase of $4.9B in contract awards to small businesses. The DoD’s overall performance garnered an "A" rating overall for the SBA’s FY24 agency small business scorecard.

Of note, there was an increase of $2.5B awarded to small disadvantaged businesses (SDBs), an increase of over $100M in contracts to women owned small businesses (WOSB), an increase of over $800M to service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSB), and over $200M to HUBZone companies. An additional $56.8B was subcontracted to small businesses from DoD's large prime suppliers. The 90+ APEX Accelerators across the country and DoD Mentor-Protégé Program continues to provide a robust footprint and platform to cultivate companies to acquire the capabilities to become suppliers of critical technologies and services necessary for supply chain resilience and bolstering deterrence.
