Small Business Scorecard News

The Department of War earned an "A "with an overall score of 100.46% on the U.S. Small Business Administration's FY25 Small Business Procurement Scorecard, recognizing the Department's continued commitment to expanding opportunities for small businesses and strengthening the defense industrial base.

In FY25, the Department exceeded the federal goal for overall small business prime contracting and surpassed the overall small business subcontracting goal.

"Small businesses are essential to delivering the innovation, agility, and capacity our warfighters depend on. This achievement reflects the dedication of our acquisition workforce and industry partners who are strengthening the industrial base by expanding opportunities for small businesses." said James Mismash, Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Industrial Base Growth.

The Department's strong performance is supported by initiatives such as the nationwide APEX Accelerators network and the DoW Mentor-Protégé Program, which help develop and prepare businesses to compete for defense contracts and deliver critical technologies and capabilities.
