In order to fulfill our strategic goals and mission, we seek out opportunities and strategic activities to increase small business dollars competitively awarded by DoD military departments and agencies. These statistical tables and reports show our goals and demonstrate how well we are performing, by Fiscal Year (FY).

Small Business Scorecard News

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) works with each federal agency to set their prime and subcontracting goals and a scorecard is released at the conclusion of the fiscal year. The data for FY23 is in and it was a record breaking year with 28.4% of federal contract dollars awarded to small businesses-- representing a $178.6B investment in the small business economy.

In the FY23 scorecard, the United States Department of Defense received an "A" for achieving its small business and socio-economic prime contracting and subcontracting goals.

Department of Defense Scorecard Results for FY23:

Small business overall spend increased by $4.3B (8% increase)
Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) increased by $700M (11% increase)
Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) increased by $900M (11% increase)
HUBZone Small Business increased by $400M (14% increase)
Service Disabled Veteran Owned (SDVOSB) increased by $400M (11% increase)

An additional $59.8 billion was subcontracted tsmall business from DoD’s large prime suppliers. Learn More>>
